Alex Mikko, Care Manager
Alex’s career focus has always been healthcare, she has an extensive background in senior care with training in Hospice, Alzheimer’s and Dementia care. What Alex loves most about her job as a client care manager is the opportunity to allow a client to remain comfortable and safe in their own home while still maintaining their dignity. Alex says “Some situations may seem impossible to manage from a loved ones perceptive, but a carefully matched caregiver along with the level of care management Home Care Assistance provides, we make it work like clockwork.” The solution begins with a collaborative discussion with the client and their loved ones and simply falls into place. It’s an opportunity to not only greatly impact one person’s life, but several. Aside from the four years Alex spent at Saint Louis University she is a Kansas City gal born and raised. With her grandparents, Alex has personally experienced and navigated the challenges of evaluating and choosing the best step forward for aging loved ones. These experiences along with her professional experiences have led her to the belief of “Personalized care is the best care.” Personalized care starts with getting to know the client you are working with and the passion Alex has for aging adults truly shines during this process. In seeking to understand each and every client’s needs Alex is supremely confident in her team’s ability to bring the best solution to the table.
Patty Garrett has been in the healthcare field for the last 15 years. Patty focuses on providing outstanding care management to her clients and their family members throughout the entire process. What Patty loves most about being a care manager is bringing a solution to a families life that will restore the quality of living for everyone involved. After advocating for her own parents and her husband as they needed in home care Patty gained an even further appreciation for care management and the care we provide. Patty says “I feel like I have experienced both sides of care management, needing the plan and advocating for my own loved ones. Not a day goes by that I don’t call upon my personal experiences as our clients and their families need my advice and direction. I feel it gives me an added personal perspective when helping my clients through the home care process.” Patty loves knowing she is part of such a great team of people with one main goal in mind; providing outstanding care to our clients to help change the way the world ages!
